6

Six days.
Six days until I can finally stop counting. Because when you get sealed in the Temple, you don't ever have to count again because you will be with that person (in my case, an adorable, sexy man with the last name of Sweet) literally the rest of FOREVER. That is what I am most excited about. Being with Scot ALL THE TIME! Okay, sometimes and more so alot of the time, I annoy the heck out of this boy. Same goes for him. But somehow we are so freakin' perfect for each other its ubelievable. How do I know this? Because I have that feeling confirmed to me by the Holy Ghost quite a bit. I don't know if all of you have heard this story, but alot of ya'll have... I'm gonna tell it anyways.

A year ago on Scot's birthday, October 27th (3 days after our first kiss, and 6 days after our first date after geology class) I walked into his apartment with a ridiculously childish birthday card I had drawn for him with a elephant wearing a party hat on it. At the time I thought it was cute and creative but as I was walking up the stairs to his door my mind was being filled with many thoughts... "WHY did I make a birthday card with an elephant on it? WHY do I always draw like a five year old? WHY am I so into him? WHY do I think this will be impressive to a 21 year old male?", as you can see most of the thoughts were "WHY'S". As I knocked on the door and he opened it, looking so darling I could barely contain my abnormaly huge smile, I felt the strongest sensation of peace I had ever felt. I walked inside and set the silly birthday card down and took a few steps into his kitchen where he was starting to make a birthday cake (which is now my kitchen, YAY!) I felt another strong and startling impression. It was as if someone had literally shouted in my ears "this is the boy you will marry someday". I was SO weirded out at myself. I took another step and the same voice shouted once more, "this is the boy you will marry someday"... really? i've known him for a week! I was a little freaked out and wondered why I was thinking that about some boy I had met in a college class a week before. But as I stood there, I said the same thought aloud in my head...."this is the boy I will marry someday"... and I looked over at Scot, he turned and smiled. My heart was filled with everything right and pure at that moment I knew it was true. So, had been dating (well not even "officially" dating yet) a mere SIX days I knew in my heart Scot would be my husband. We were not even officially boyfriend-girlfriend yet! But the Holy Ghost told me that day and I listened. The moment I kissed Scot I knew I was done. I was done with searching for anyone or anything else. Here's a sweet pic of us on his b-day last year :)

                        october 27th, 2009 :)

Six days until I am a wife. That is quite a day. Six days until we leave on our honeymoon... and looking forward to it! vacation! Six days until our reception and we get to see so many family and friends and be reunited with all of them at the same time! Six days until Scot can FINALLY wear his wedding ring. I love that thing. Six days until the happiest day of my life. And all these events are happening on the SIXTH of November. THAT IS IN JUST SIX DAYS! Like it hasn't even hit me yet all the way that it's THIS WEEKEND. We have been engaged since July and November seemed like years away and it has taken so long I kinda never really thought it'd get here... but it's FINALLY HERE! I AM SO EXCITED!!
In more recent news, on Tuesday is the big day for my family... we will be sealed for eternity on November 2nd! I also have waited a looong time for that day too. And it's finally here!
Everyone keeps saying "my, what a big week you have!" UM, YEAH!  The wonderful-ness is so overwhelming I don't even know what to do with myself. Shout out to my whole ward for being so helpful with the wedding and signing up to make treats and clean up! You guys are my family and I love you all so much! YOU ROCK! Shout out to everyone that has helped me and my family with all the wedding stuff. :)
I am about to rock this week so hard. Saturday will be a party and I expect all my family and especially friends to make it to my reception! The "big day" is literally around the corner! Am I ready? HECK YEAH! Do I have everything figured out? almost. Am I nervous? definitely not, just excited! Am I ready to be a "Sweet"? I am! Tough shoes to fill but I can handle it!
                           excited and anxious,
Melissa Ruth Perkins (almost Sweet) <3

Blessings -20 days-

"Blessings" is the only title I can put for this post. I am swimming in blessings right now! First of all, I will be sealed for all eternity in just 20 days to my best friend/fiance, Scot Sweet. (I cannot express how FREAKIN' EXCITED I AM!!!!!) =D
The biggest blessing and the one that I have wanted more than anything my whole entire life is happening!
4 days before Scot and I go through the Temple, my family will be sealed together forever on my parent's 25th wedding anniversary, November 2nd, 2010. BLESSINGS. Now you can probably understand why I am so filled with joy and gratitude! Our family has been trying to get to the Temple for a long, long time. I have never wanted anything more than to be with my stinky brothers and silly sister and wonderful parents for ETERNITY! I am so happy and thankful! So is all of our extended family and our Ward family couldn't be more excited either. The Ward is helping so much with our wedding and everything. I am experiencing so much service and charity that it overwhelms me and I about break down and cry tears of joy almost every five minutes.
I can barely write this post without crying!
My testimony of eternal families and our Saviors love has grown abundantly and it will grow every single day. I love this little quote I heard in relief society one sunday, "Faith is not believing that God can, it is knowing that He will."  I definitely believe that! My goodness I am just so stinkin' happy!!!

Our wedding is only 3 weeks away!! So many little things to do!

Oh my gosh, I forgot to tell you all how fantastic my "Sweet" Bridal shower was up north. Scot's family did an amazing job with my bridal shower and I had soooo much fun! They are all so lovely and I'm grateful I am marrying into a great family. :) I will post pictures next time of my family bridal shower, the Sweet bridal shower, and my bachelorette party with all my friends from high school! I've been having a blast! <3

Guh.30 days.

You know what? Everything seems to be getting more difficult the closer we get to going to the Temple. Satan is always working & tryng his best to bring us down but we are too darn quick and faithful! I love Scot Sweet with all my heart and he is such a sweetie pie. I cannot wait to be sealed to this man, November 6th cannot come fast enough.

30 DAYS. Scot made me a adorable countdown chain and wrote a cute message on each link that i can take off each day as our wedding gets closer. See, i'm so freakin' lucky my (almost) husband is SO DARN CUTE!
I'm in looooove.

37 days, holla!

Can you believe it?! It's almost a month away! Yeeeeeeeeeeee!

Last friday my dear friend Sammi Beardall took our bridal pictures and it was sooo much fun! I loved getting all dolled up for them :) My other sweetheart friend, Kylee Gubler, did my hair all pretty for the pictures and I felt like a princess! Here's some of the pics Sammi put up on her blog, Feelslikehomephotography.blogspot.com :)

 Scot is really handsome :)

 l<3ve these last two pictures!!!

I feel very very very excited to be getting married. Scot makes me the happiest girl ever. He is such a sweetheart, and how could he not be with a last name like "Sweet" =). I am excited to be his wife and to be sealed to him forEVER and grow with him and create an eternal family together. Even though he picks his nose and wipes his boogers on me and makes me eat pizza and tacos (his fave food) aaaalll the time and even if he does hate all veggies that I LOVE, and thinks his picture he bought of 3 cowboys riding off into the sunset is staying in our kitchen (It's NOT), I love this boy with ALL MY HEART!
We are in the process of typing up all our addresses on labels so we can head over to Costco to print them all out... guh and the addresses seem never ending! But that's allright, I want everyone I love to be able to make it to our reception so if you haven't already given me your address..DOOOO IT! Thanks amigos.

I will type up a more interesting blog someday with a plethera of funny puns and snazzy paragraphs to show you my skillz at writing but for now it's gushy love posts that I hope you guys enjoy reading as much as I do writing all this sappy junk.
P.S.- I'm almost Mrs. Melissa Sweet!!!! HOW COOL IS THAT?! booooooooooom!

alot happens in 48 hours I decided.

So my last blog post was 2 days ago and a couple events have happened!
The first thing to take place was on Wed. I had a little mix up with one of my scholarships and finally it was applied on tuesday. I had only 200 $ left I had to pay that I was going to pay using some of my other scholarship money. Admist me getting my DixieOne card and me getting ready to pay it (probably all within that hour) both my classes were dropped and purged. Apparently Wed. was the last day to pay your tuition, but the lady I talked to said my classes wouldn't be dropped because I have already paid for more than half of it.
...but I guess she was wrong and now I'm officially un-enrolled for Fall Semester 2010. :( I wouldn't have been able to go to the college and fix this giant mess until today, but I felt almost relieved they were dropped cause the same thing happend to Scot. I've already written a paper for my dumb english class and done 3 of my LIB 1010 quizes but it's worth it to not have to worry about finals on my honeymoon and writing papers during my wedding. Sigh.
Right after this amazing bombshell I started to not feel so hot. Like really, I was literally FREEZING at work. My teeth were chattering! So starting Wed. night and all day Thurs. I felt reaaaaally sick! My throat hurt real bad and I was SO COLD! Well I went to work yesterday anyways and somehow happended to survive. Scot and I ran some errands and I went home to bed around 10 p.m. last night... only to wake up to tonsils the size and color of golf balls! EW. My mom ran me to instacare early this morning...
So ya, I also am offically diagnosed with strep throat and am in the "incubation" stage where I am severely contagious for the next 24 hours.
Can I catch a break here? Please?!
Haha well at least my mom bought me some yummy frozen yogurt and now I can kinda talk instead of just nod my head cause my throat is so swollen.
Anyways, this wasn't 'post to gross anyone out, I am just in quarantine and can't really talk so I thought I'd do a lil bloggin.
Hopefully things will stop being so crazy and all this wedding and school stuff will come together.
49 days. AHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
:)

The Countdown Begins!

51 days. ONLY 51 days?! This past week I have been a little more stressed out than usual... probably because my wedding is in only 51 DAYS!
For a little while there when the countdown number was in the 60's and 70's I would think to myself, "Oh, that is sooo far away! I have lots of time..." YEAH. NO.
I still have so many things to do and I don't even know half of the things I need to get done!
the biggest one is the annoucements and getting all the addresses together. We're sending them out the 1st week in October. Which is tomorrow basically.
Oh... and another thing. I don't fit into my wedding dress!
Well okay, it fits. But I look like i'm about to burst and i can't move certain ways because it actually WILL burst. So i'm eating healthy and running in the mornings... hopefully I can do this!
gah.
Scot doesn't understand why i'm stressing... probably cause he's a boy. and all he has to do is show up. :)
No, he actually has been very involved and helps with everything so he's a gem.
I love him lots.

And of course I didn't take any pics of when we went up North... so forgetful dangit. It was amazing being there while Scoty was ordained an Elder. He makes me so happy. :)
Now off to tackle my never ending list of "To Do's" ! .... sigh.
