37 days, holla!

Can you believe it?! It's almost a month away! Yeeeeeeeeeeee!

Last friday my dear friend Sammi Beardall took our bridal pictures and it was sooo much fun! I loved getting all dolled up for them :) My other sweetheart friend, Kylee Gubler, did my hair all pretty for the pictures and I felt like a princess! Here's some of the pics Sammi put up on her blog, Feelslikehomephotography.blogspot.com :)

 Scot is really handsome :)

 l<3ve these last two pictures!!!

I feel very very very excited to be getting married. Scot makes me the happiest girl ever. He is such a sweetheart, and how could he not be with a last name like "Sweet" =). I am excited to be his wife and to be sealed to him forEVER and grow with him and create an eternal family together. Even though he picks his nose and wipes his boogers on me and makes me eat pizza and tacos (his fave food) aaaalll the time and even if he does hate all veggies that I LOVE, and thinks his picture he bought of 3 cowboys riding off into the sunset is staying in our kitchen (It's NOT), I love this boy with ALL MY HEART!
We are in the process of typing up all our addresses on labels so we can head over to Costco to print them all out... guh and the addresses seem never ending! But that's allright, I want everyone I love to be able to make it to our reception so if you haven't already given me your address..DOOOO IT! Thanks amigos.

I will type up a more interesting blog someday with a plethera of funny puns and snazzy paragraphs to show you my skillz at writing but for now it's gushy love posts that I hope you guys enjoy reading as much as I do writing all this sappy junk.
P.S.- I'm almost Mrs. Melissa Sweet!!!! HOW COOL IS THAT?! booooooooooom!

alot happens in 48 hours I decided.

So my last blog post was 2 days ago and a couple events have happened!
The first thing to take place was on Wed. I had a little mix up with one of my scholarships and finally it was applied on tuesday. I had only 200 $ left I had to pay that I was going to pay using some of my other scholarship money. Admist me getting my DixieOne card and me getting ready to pay it (probably all within that hour) both my classes were dropped and purged. Apparently Wed. was the last day to pay your tuition, but the lady I talked to said my classes wouldn't be dropped because I have already paid for more than half of it.
...but I guess she was wrong and now I'm officially un-enrolled for Fall Semester 2010. :( I wouldn't have been able to go to the college and fix this giant mess until today, but I felt almost relieved they were dropped cause the same thing happend to Scot. I've already written a paper for my dumb english class and done 3 of my LIB 1010 quizes but it's worth it to not have to worry about finals on my honeymoon and writing papers during my wedding. Sigh.
Right after this amazing bombshell I started to not feel so hot. Like really, I was literally FREEZING at work. My teeth were chattering! So starting Wed. night and all day Thurs. I felt reaaaaally sick! My throat hurt real bad and I was SO COLD! Well I went to work yesterday anyways and somehow happended to survive. Scot and I ran some errands and I went home to bed around 10 p.m. last night... only to wake up to tonsils the size and color of golf balls! EW. My mom ran me to instacare early this morning...
So ya, I also am offically diagnosed with strep throat and am in the "incubation" stage where I am severely contagious for the next 24 hours.
Can I catch a break here? Please?!
Haha well at least my mom bought me some yummy frozen yogurt and now I can kinda talk instead of just nod my head cause my throat is so swollen.
Anyways, this wasn't 'post to gross anyone out, I am just in quarantine and can't really talk so I thought I'd do a lil bloggin.
Hopefully things will stop being so crazy and all this wedding and school stuff will come together.
49 days. AHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
:)

The Countdown Begins!

51 days. ONLY 51 days?! This past week I have been a little more stressed out than usual... probably because my wedding is in only 51 DAYS!
For a little while there when the countdown number was in the 60's and 70's I would think to myself, "Oh, that is sooo far away! I have lots of time..." YEAH. NO.
I still have so many things to do and I don't even know half of the things I need to get done!
the biggest one is the annoucements and getting all the addresses together. We're sending them out the 1st week in October. Which is tomorrow basically.
Oh... and another thing. I don't fit into my wedding dress!
Well okay, it fits. But I look like i'm about to burst and i can't move certain ways because it actually WILL burst. So i'm eating healthy and running in the mornings... hopefully I can do this!
gah.
Scot doesn't understand why i'm stressing... probably cause he's a boy. and all he has to do is show up. :)
No, he actually has been very involved and helps with everything so he's a gem.
I love him lots.

And of course I didn't take any pics of when we went up North... so forgetful dangit. It was amazing being there while Scoty was ordained an Elder. He makes me so happy. :)
Now off to tackle my never ending list of "To Do's" ! .... sigh.

The Wedding Can

Hey guys, I'm gonna share something real neat with ya!
When I was a little girl, twelve years old to be exact, I was a Beehive in Young Women's. And we did a really special activity that I thought was silly at the time, because I was twelve, but it turned out to be so fun now that I'm 20yrs old and getting married! All of us made what we called our "Wedding Can", and this activity took us a couple weeks to finish. We collected letters and notes written to us from our Grandmothers, old friends, and Mom and Dad. The letters were to us on our wedding day, or as we are engaged to be married. So I gathered up notes from my loved ones, they even gave me some beautiful jewelry and special things, like the gold and pearl necklace my Grammie and Grandpa Perkins gave to my mom on her wedding day!  Then my leaders sealed up the can and told us to put it away until we were engaged and were soon to be married. I have waited 8 years to open this thing! For a while there I forgot it even existed, it was sitting in the back of my closet covered in a blanket of dust.
I made it in 2002. That seems like centuries ago!!

There were some treasures in the can that made me so happy when I saw them. I put in a picture of the St. George Temple and my mom gave me the wedding bell that was on top of her and my dad's cake.

On the back of the picture of the Temple scrawled in my twelve year old handwriting was this note :

It says, " This is the lovely Temple I will get married in! - Melissa Perkins
age 12 / September 24-2002". It's SO WONDERFUL to look at that and know that I am fulfilling the dreams I had as a little girl! - that sounds soo cheesy, but it's true! It makes me so happy!

The last interesting tidbit I found in my Wedding Can was this:
It's a signed contract saying that I will return the dollar I borrowed from my old bishop once I am ready to be married in the Temple. Isn't that so funny? I can't wait to give this back to him on Sunday!

I am so grateful that I have made good choices and tried so hard to make that dream I had as a little girl a reality now. It's definitely been a challenge, but it's almost here and I am honestly SO excited to be sealed to Scot for all eternity. The coolest part of saying that we will be together forever is that literally, we will be. It's really going to happen, and I REALLY will be Scot's best friend and eternal companion for the rest of our lives here on earth and our lives in Heaven. He's the greatest guy ever, and I'm so blessed to have met him. Thank goodness for that random Geology class we met each other in! ha ha. The Gospel makes me incredibly thankful and I am thrilled that Scot and I are going to be sealed in the Temple in only 61 days! BOOOOYA!
There's my sweet little blog post. :)

Oh, and I almost forgot to mention we are headed up to West Valley City (Scot's hometown) tomorrow, so Scot can be ordained an Elder by his dad in his home ward! SO EXCITING! I will make sure to take some pics of our trip :)
