Furniture Escapades and Registering Extravaganza

So, Scot and I have this uncanny knack of happening upon awesome deals for furniture. It's some superpower we posses and if I do say so myself, it's pretty SWEET! Maybe it's just dumb luck... but this luck has blessed us like 3 times in a row this month! So i'm pretty sure we are some kind of 'Rulers of the Bargain World' or something.
The first time this happend to us we were looking for a kitchen table about a month ago (all Scot had was a card table that made you lose your dignity if you sat down to eat a nice meal at it). We searched at different furniture places for a while and nothing was on sale enough for us so we passed on everything. We also needed a washer and dryer, so our search turned into a hunt for the best deal for a kitchen table along with our much needed washer + dryer combo. After hunting the Southern Utah region and combing all furniture and appliance stores with no luck, Scot searched on KSL. He found a pretty all wood table with four high-back chairs for 100 bucks! He also found a washer + dryer pair that a older man was selling out of his second home in Tuacahn. He said his wife wanted newer, cuter ones so he had to sell them - they hadn't even been used really! He wanted 250$ for them but we 'sweet' talked him and lowered it to 200. So we walked away that day with a beautiful all wood table and a nice washer and dryer for only 300 dollars! SO COOL!
The next sweet deal we wandered upon was on Tuesday, at Costco. There has been this couch/half sectional there that we reaaaally loved but it was around 450$. So we said we would save up for it and get it someday when we could. Well we went to Costco on Tuesday so Scot could pick up his contacts, but alas, they were not there. So naturally we wanted stop and get some pizza at their delicious foodcourt. Before we did, we decided to walk around the store and look at stuff we wish we could have. As we walked up to our favorite couch I stared at it with longing and Scot slowly turned to the sale sign to take a peek. "DUDE! NO WAY!" is what I heard... I turned to look at the sign and the price was down to 299.00$! Who even knew Costco put things on sale like that? Not us! We looked at eachother and knew we couldn't pass up the deal. So we left Costco that day with no contacts but we did leave with a new beautiful couch! (Scot just so happend to drive his truck to Costco that day, not our car) The couch is a beige-grey color that I absolutely love, and It's regular sized couch with a peice that extends it on either side of the couch so you can lay down on one side with your feet up.  I literally have been dreaming about what cute accent pillows we are going to buy for it ALL WEEK.  Costco doesn't have a picture up on it's website of the couch sadly, so you all can't see it. But here are some pics of cute pillows that I dream of accenting our new couch with. (I dunno if Scot would dig these but I'm gonna put 'em up anyways...)

So this is what I have been day-dreaming about all day. I am now considered old.

We also registered for our wedding at Target yesterday. We spent 2 1/2 hours in that place! Scot held the cool scanning-gun thing most of the time, but that's okay cause I picked out most the stuff. It was fun, but we were extremely exhausted afterwards! We only registered for about 100 things... We didn't know really the appropriate amount of swag we could scan. So we only registered for items we reaaaally needed/wanted.
I don't think anyone will buy us the 42'' flat screen TV that Scot excitedly scanned, but who knows, maybe some generous person will make his dreams come true? (Ha ha)

Engagement pictures and Birthday fun!

Friday August 13th, Scot and I had our engagemet pictures taken by my dear friend Sammi Beardall. It was also my birthday, I'm now 20 years old! It was a great day! For our engagements we started out at landromat and finished up on our dirtbikes with beautiful red rock for our background. It was a blast! Sammi is so creative and had awesome ideas. Here are few of our pictures she put up on her blog Feelslikehomephotography.blogspot.com - I definitely recomend you check out her work, it's so impressive! I can't wait to see the rest of them. (I'm kind of a freak for already posting these considering she only put them up on her blog about a hour or two ago but I'm so excited I can't help it)
^ love this one :)
Scot is so handsome! I'm a lucky girl!

Engaged!

Scot proposed to me on July 15th, 2010! He actually tricked me and and kept making up excuses why he was acting so strange. He drove me up to the Hurricane Overlook where the "Spillway" is (the spillway is a tunnel underneath the freeway and at the end there is a  huge drop off) and led me to the end of the tunnel... and there it was! A huge message spray painted on the cement waiting for me saying, "Melissa will you marry me?" I was so surprised! He knelt down and pulled out the MOST GORGEOUS ring I have ever or will ever see in my entire life.
-Of course I said YES YES YES!!! We just set our date and the big day is November 6, 2010 in the St. George Temple. WE ARE SO EXCITED!
