thank goodness

I finally have a new job!
 I have been searching sooo long and it's been really hard. I have applied to almost everyplace in STG and went on a couple interviews with zilch luck.

On wed I went on an interview @ Mountain America Credit Union and I did sooo awesome! Well at least I felt like I did... they told me I would know by friday if I got the job.

So i'm chillin at work (at Lin's) on thursday and I get a call and a voicemail from them. I quickly faked that I needed to pee and ran to the bathroom and imediately called them back.

they told me I got the job! like 24 hours after I interviewed! HOORAY!

I will have a set schedule and get paid much better than I do at Lin's and the manager is the sweetest lady ever named Ellie.
I am so excited mostly because it is like one minute away from our house AND I get to wear cute clothes to work! NO MORE APRON!

They are sending me up to SLC this sunday the 30th for a whole 5 days for training, I'm staying in a hotel in Jordan Landing and they pay for everything- and I get paid full time while i'm training. wahoo!

The last interviews I went on I thought I did really well, and I totally didn't get those jobs. I have been really discouraged because I have been praying for help to find a new job for months, going to the temple, and fasting. I have been confused why I didn't get the last job I interviewd so well for.
I know my Heavenly Father had a plan for me and those jobs were not the right one for me, they would have definitely stopped me from being able to go to school in the mornings and spend time with my husband. I am grateful that my Father in Heaven has been looking out for me and answered my prayers just when I felt like giving up.

I'm so blessed. I am overwhelmed with how lucky I am to have so many wonderful people in my life, so many awesome experiences, and so many nice things.

Life is goooood.

Married Life: post wedding recap

Okay, so I am putting off my Lib 1010 assignment and blogging instead.
Please don't judge me, just listen.
I am finally going to fill you all in on how much fun married life is! Hooray! Life after the wedding/honeymoon starts here.

That's us on Thanksgiving.

November 25th 2010, almost 3 weeks after our weddin' day.

 Don't we look fat and happy? Please don't answer that... 

It's like since the second we were husband and wife, I have an uncontrollable knack for eating everything in my sight. Eating is one of my favorite hobbies, and just so happens I married a man exactly like me. Don't get me wrong, it totally rocks my socks. But this girl is now having a hard time fitting into her work pants... which were pretty loose when she bought them a year ago.

We are now into December. Our first Christmas being married! Awwww. Cute. While on our honeymoon in Disneyland we bought these adorable Christmas ornaments of mickey and minnie in their wedding outfits. I would not leave Disneyland until our first Christmas ornaments were purchased. I don't have a pic of those but here's our little Christmas tree.

All of our ornaments were not on yet, and we have no presents underneath... but it has character, right? Right. It turned out pretty beautiful to me at least.

Christmas was really fun, we went up north and spent Christmas Eve until the day after Christmas at Scot's parents house in West Valley. It was really different being away from my Mommy and family on Christmas, I really missed them! But we had a second Christmas when we got home the following Monday so it's alll goood.

Oh! and in December, another monumental event happened. Scoty traded his two dirt bikes in for a boat! It literally has been his dream since before he was born. and he is SO happy. We picked it up from his parents house where it was being kept and towed it home on the way back to St. George after Christmas.

But we survived! Fantastic! For a while there I was a little worried... because we could barely see the road in front of us, but it all worked out and now his sweet, sweet mastercraft is sitting in our condo driveway. We basically are counting down the days until it's warm enough to go out to the lake. Well he is, I'm not so excited about the lake because that equals swimsuit and I have canceled that attire out of my wardrobe until I control my feasting habit.

Ahhh, hello 2011. Here already? Guess so.

We spent New Years Eve as any 81 year old grandparents would. We went out to eat at our favorite restaurant and payed using a sweet gift-certificate coupon and wandered on home to watch a short movie and fell asleep around 10:30 p.m. Yes, we are party animals.

We enjoy it this way.

So now you are pretty up to date besides the fact that I dyed my hair dark brown.

This is very surprising information in case you didn't know. I have been blond for 5 years. (unnaturally, of course) When I was 15 years old I decided I wanted blond streaks in my hair and it basically escalated from there.

Going into a blurry phase of platinum, almost white locks with many, many Paris Hilton/Barbie look alike references.

I decided to end the madness and let the world know my true identity and impulsivly bought a box of hair color and now you have this:

Please ignore the 15 year old annoying kissy-camera face I have going on in this pic. I was delusional from the drastic change, okay? This is the end result. Quite different, but I like it. And so do 70 % of my co-workers and customers that actually recognize me instead of the 30 % that ask if i'm the "new girl".

Well, there you have it. That's basically our life [so far] in a nutshell. I left out the part where our new major hobby is watching 'The Office' every night, we started at season one probably a little more than a month ago. We are now on season 6 and going strong. Once that ends, I don't know what we'll do.

We love being married.

It's been a while!

Hello fellow bloggers!
Sorry I have been such a bore lately and totally ignored our sweet blog. I have been busy being a wife! :) Being married is fantastic by the way.  We have been busy decorating our condo and playing with family for the holidays. We spent Thanksgiving down here with my family and went up north for Christmas. I have to say it was more difficult than I thought spending my first Christmas away from my Mommy and family! I missed them! But it was a blast spending time with Scot's side of the fam, especially with all the little kids so excited for Santa! I did promise pictures... but you will have to wait till my next post. I can't figure out my dumb camera and computer right now.
2010 has been the best year of my life so far and it's only going to get better. I'm really looking forward to 2011! Minus the part where school starts... blegh. and looking for a new job. Whatever happens I have a really adorable husband by my side forever and it totally rocks. Happy New Year friends!

Finally!

I am finally Mrs. Melissa Sweet. And I have to say, it feels even better than I thought it would! I absolutely love being married. (I know I have only been married a week and 3 days, but thus far it has been wonderful. haha!)

Our wedding was PERFECT. Literally. As Scot always tells me, "if there was a way it was suppose to be, this is it!" Absolute perfection. Now we don't have any pictures up yet, his uncle Sam took pics at our wedding and handed us 6 cd's full of pictures on sunday and we have yet to upload them onto our computer. But they will come! Don't you worry!
        We were sealed by Scot's grandfather Ray White in the St. George Temple. Ray wrote President Monson and asked for permission because he only has his sealers license in Texas now. President Monson wrote him back and told him it was okay if he sealed us here in Utah. I thought it was extrememly special that we had that opportunity! It was beautiful. I can't think of a word that I can even describe how amazing it was! My grandfather told his grandfather that it was the best sealing he has ever been to in his whole 83 years of living. It was sooo magnificant. We are so blessed to have so many people that care about us and so many people traveled from all over to see us in the Temple and I am so grateful for them. It was the best day of my life and it always will be. Thank you. 
After we took pictures outside the Temple we headed over to the reception site and ate lunch, the whole wedding party came that was at the Temple so it was fun! I have to tell you how hard my whole entire Ward worked to make my reception happen. Honestly, if it wasn't for them I would have had to have a reception in my moms basement with our food storage as treats. They literally did EVERYTHING for the reception. I am so SO SO SO blessed. You guys have no idea! Like total service project style times 5000 = my wedding reception. Everyone was a part of it and helped and I am so happy and thankful!!! It honestly was the best. Ah.
I saw so many friends and family at my reception! It was great! All of my family from Texas on my dads side were there and it was so funny because Scot's grandparents live in Texas now and appparently they know my Grammie and they live in the same stake down there! They were pals! Who woudla known! I loved it! haha.
We stood in the line for decades... okay maybe like an hour and half. but it seemed to be FOREVER. but it was fantastic to see so many people that I love in one place! Yeaaaah! We had tons of fun! After cutting the cake and throwing the flowers (taylor totally caught the boquet... she's getting married next!) we finally got to leave together and head off to Las Vegas to the MGM Grand! and that's where I'll leave ya and tell you in my next post about our honeymoon and have pics. Right now I need to go help my frustrated husband figure out the carpet cleaner.

3, 2, and ONE

Our open house was a blast. I love Scot's family. I cried when I saw the flowers. Cindy and Tera (scot's mom and sister) did the most wonderful job it was exactly how i wanted it. Tera I love you and the boquet you made for me. I cried. Ah. The Temple tonight was wonderful. It was wonderful being there with my parents!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was so happy they were in the Temple with me. I knew they wouldn't ever miss that for anything. Thanks mom and dad. I love Cindy and Jeff too. I am sooo blessed.

Can't wait for tomorrow to be sealed to Scot for eternity and be so happy! I am so excited for our reception and seeing all my family that flew in from out of town! Plus Elizabeth, Scot's sister that is going to college in Iowa is flying in and she is a HOOT! I LOVE HER!  BEST DAY EVER TOMORROW? YUP.
I will see you all at the reception hopefully, I love you all and I love Scot Sweet the most.
Can't wait.

Today I was sealed to my family for time and all eternity. I cannot express in words how beautiful the experience was. I love this Gospel.

4 days until I am sealed to my love!

Tomorrow (wed) I work 2-9. Thursday, Scot and I will leave for West Valley in the a.m. like around six thirty so we get up north around 11. Guh. Then our open house is at 6:30-8:30 p.m. all you Salt Lake people I want to see your faces there! Then I pass out in bed. We wake up super early on friday and high tale it outta there to St. George to make it on time to my Endownment sesh at 4:30 p.m.  Then we visit with our families and go to sleep. I will wake up early saturday morning and start my grooming session that will take many hours to complete my beautiful bride-self. AND THEN, at noon on saturday Scot and I will finally be married. AAANND DEN, luncheon... followed by our reception at 4:00! Holla! We party until 6 and help clean up, make sure we have everything and get the HECK OUT OF THERE! We'll drive our married butts to Las Vegas to the MGM Grand to kick back in our ballin' suite and relish the married life. We will play in California all week and drive back to St. George friday night and then saturday we will drive right back up to West Valley to hear good ol' Dallin Sweet give his farewell talk in sacrament on Sunday!
annnnnnd then, finally, we will be in our home. married. by ourselves. HAPPY.

so there is a play by play of my life. I'm a busy lady. Never too busy to blog about my love for Scot though, right? Right.
